Hello Themler Team.

Thanks for all your great work!
I have a wish for future updates.
Please add an off-canvas menu, especially for the responsive menu modes.

Here is a clean example of that that uses bootstrap 3 , so maybe you can see how to use this type of menu in themler:

Thank you so much for your time,
Shaul.

+1. Great UX feature especially for responsive mode.
There is more examples for realization in Bootstrap.

Hello.

Is here any progress?
Great realization of offcanvas at UIkit framework: http://getuikit.com/docs/offcanvas.html

It will be very nice, if you can do it like a module position in Joomla, to add to offcanvas area not only menu, but also some information (for example - language switcher).

To users: please vote for this topic if you have interest in this feature.

For all the new users, this is a request for adding a side sliding mobile menu, like in apps (kind of), which is a part of bootstrap already, so please vote for this so Themler will consider adding this feature!. this can really help the quality of the mobile versions of our sites.

thanks for your time :)

Shaul keep your topic about private messages at the top.
We need it for FTP credentials, backend login, attaching themes, TeamViewer credentials, URLs, etc...

Here are some more cool examples for this type of menu:

http://tympanus.net/codrops/2014/09/16/off-canvas-menu-effects/

http://tympanus.net/codrops/2013/08/28/transitions-for-off-canvas-navigations/

http://tympanus.net/Development/SidebarTransitions/

If themler will this kind of effects, it would be premium league for mobile sites....

also, for hybrid app development in the HTML version, this will solve the menu to be app-like :)

It is not so difficult to make it manually. With Themler edit options for menu remained.

  • Make one hidden Themler template (it will be nowhere used)
  • Insert there one new Horizontal Menu control. (Rename it for instance to Off-Canvas Menu)
  • In your real TH template insert one new CMS Code control (It will look ugly, later with position:fixed and other TH options it will be top-left placed).
  • Insert this code in CMS Code control (find in your theme files how is your menu in hidden template called):

http://pastebin.com/SxbP5xr9
(You can replace JS code with minified code from first link on this topic)

  • In WordPress backend make new custom menu and call it for instance Off-Canvas Menu.
  • When inside this menu at the bottom check Off-Canvas Menu option. Add menu items.
  • Go to TH, click inside CMS Code control on some menu item and you have all TH styling options for custom menu there.
  • Give menu items display:block, width 100% all, and whole menu wrapper some fixed side, 300-400 px. Rest can you style with ALL TH options for menu, not single one is missing.

CSS code is here. Reduce it from all code not needed, or take it at whole.

Stagger Lee, thanks for a hint - great idea.

Almost all features is possible to do with some hack (with little knowledges of PHP, JS, CSS and HTML).

Even without specific knowledges most of Themler features can be replaced by Joomla extensions or WP widgets (slideshow, megamenu, offcanvas menu etc.)

Main point to realize new features in Themler is to do Themler more friendly, easy to use (without custom coding) and universal (all in one).

So the question is still open.

BTW, for users: don't forget to vote for this topic if you have interest in this feature.
